Stephanie Bolton, is a third generation artist, born into a very artistic family. Both maternal and paternal grandmothers were artists, her father is an architect and sculptor, and her mother (who also paints) owned and operated several professional art supply stores in the Bay Area of California. She laughs that she was…
“…born eating and breathing paint- it’s running through my veins!”
At a young age, her family relocated to the Big Island of Hawaii were she was raised on the rural Kona coast. After graduating high school at age 16, she returned to California, to study Art at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. During which time, she was fortunate enough to TA for Art instructors at private and public high schools and work in the beautiful Reynold’s Gallery of Montecito. At 19, she was asked to sit as a juror for the Montecito Beautification Art Contest- a wonderful honor and exciting experience.
She also studied figure painting, printmaking and Renaissance Art abroad in Italy, where she worked for a distinguished Renaissance Art restorer restoring damaged frescos in a hilltop convent and participated in her first exhibition at the San Lodovico Instituto in Orvieto, Umbria. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art and returned home to Hawaii in 2002.
Stephanie has done commercial work designing embroidery for linen and garment lines, packaging labels, and company logos but predominantly does private paintings and murals for individuals.
She specializes in portraits and custom original artwork, working in acrylic, watercolor, oils, and silk. She delights in the welcome challenge of bringing the dreams of each new patron to life so that their artwork reflects their unique personal vision…more
