Here at Kona Coffee and Tea Company it is our goal to not only provide the best available 100% Kona Coffee on the market today, but also to encourage, empower and assist all our neighbors and friends in the Kona Coffee community. We want to grow as a company, but also as a community. Our goal is to be a center for culture, and promotion of Kona coffee heritage as well as to provide a venue for education and events. Hence our love and anticipation for the months of November. October is all about the Ironman Triathlon here in Kona, but November is all about the coffee. November is the month of the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival. From November 9-18 look for events all over Kona celebrating all things Kona Coffee and Hawaiian Culture.

The sky lights up and the festivities kick off with the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Lantern Parade on November 3rd in the historic Kailua Village downtown Kona 6-9pm. A stream of lights, music and dance winding down Ali’i Drive to Hale Halawai.

After that look for featured events include the Kona coffee Recipe contest, a must see (and taste) November 5, 10am -2pm. Kona Coffee and Tea will be present with a  booth outside the hall for that one. The ever popular Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant will crown a new beautiful and intelligent Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii title on November 4, 5:30 pm at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa, $30 with Festival button ( available in our Café).

We will be at the Farmers Marketplace at the Makaeo County Pavilion. November 10th and 11th 9am-3pm, farmers will be offering complimentary tastings and retail offerings alongside hands-on cultural exhibits.

November 11th The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Ho’olaule’a starts at 9:30am - 4pm and offers all things Hawaiian Culture including Hula Dancers, hands-on demonstrations and the highly popular Ethnic Food Market. Live entertainment all day. We will also be present at one of our favorite events, the Holualoa Village Coffee and Art Stroll in the Historic Holualoa Village high above Kailua Kona direct in the Kona growing region. On November 4th starting at 9am through 3 pm you can visit galleries displaying local art and taste coffee from over 30 Kona Coffee farms with coffee for purchase. In our opinion this is probably the best opportunity to sample and purchase coffee from a large variety of quality Kona Coffee farms. There will also be snacks, (we love the crepes), and local vendors with all types of fun, useful and tasty treats.

Be sure to pick up a Kona Coffee Cultural Festival magazine, available in our Café and throughout Kona. Inside you will find a calendar of all the events as well as some useful maps that will guide you to local farms offering complimentary tastings and tours. We recommend that you take a tour or two and learn firsthand about Kona Coffee. There are many great farms and tours. Be sure to stop by the cafe for daily complimentary tastings, a full Kona Coffee and Espresso menu, pastries, breakfast and lunch items, as well as a local products from the Island.

If you are looking for a stroll through the history of Kona Coffee, be sure to check out the Kona Coffee Living History Farm Tour at the Kona Historical Society 10am - 3pm November 3 - 7. $10 with a Festival button.

Do you think you have what it takes to be a master picker? On November 4, 10am - 4pm at the UCC Kona Coffee Picking and Farm Experience at UCC Hawaii Kona Coffee Estate you can find out for yourself. This is a great whole family event. We promise this experience will change your perspective on the just how much hard work goes into each cup of your favorite Kona Coffee.

All the hard work and Aloha put in by local small and large farms will be put to the test at the annual Kona Coffee Cupping Competition, November 8 - 9, 8:30am-1:30pm at Daylight Mind Coffee Company. Quality tasters carefully judge coffees for the highly touted blue ribbon awarded to the winning cups. Kona Coffee and Tea will have two offerings in the competition. One from our large farm on the hills of Waiono and one from our small non-certified organic farm Malia Ohana.

Also on Wednesday, check out the Beer, Wine, & Kona Coffee Pairing event at our Kailua-Kona Café. This "grazing" event lets you experience five savory tasting stations crafted to pair with your choice of beer, wine, tea or 100% Kona coffee. To keep wine-lovers, beer-lovers, and designated drivers happy, each station you visit will give you a choice of a different beer, wine, tea or 100% Kona coffee. Tickets are $50 and available online

The Specialty Coffee scene is growing in Kona and we are excited for the Kona Coffee Latte Art Throwdow taking place during the festival this year. Our Baristas will be primed and ready to throwdown with other local barista’s at Daylight Mind Bakery and Cafe on November 9, 6-8pm.

Please visit the festival website at konacoffeefest.com for a complete list of all events and descriptions. There is so much we are excited about this year. Actually there is no event we are not excited about!

Stop by the shop and share in the excitement, ask for reviews and recommendations, sample or purchase coffee or just take a break with a Cold Brew Iced Kona. We look forward to seeing you. If you can not make it to the festival this year, fret not, we will keep you updated via social media on all events we attend and are actively participating in and all our coffee as always is available via our online shop.
